Russell Higgins
Russell has been teaching horsemanship clinics and starting young horses professionally since 1999. Starting as one of Pat Parelli's apprentices in Colorado. Russell has continued his education with other great horsemen such as Buck Brannaman, Martin Black and Pedro Neves. To date he has taught in 18 different countries and started young horses on four continents.

In New Zealand Russell has been a clinician at Equidays and Equitana Auckland as well as being a regular in the Equidays night shows. He has won the 2018 Equidays Top Talent Contest and Equitana Connexion Challenge 2019, judged the Kaimanawa Challenge at Horse of the Year Show and had horsemanship articles published in the NZ Horse and Pony and Natural Horse Management magazines.

Ruth Carlyle
Ruth owns and runs Brumby Farm Horsemanship Centre with Russell. She has had horses all her life and became a full-time professional Instructor in 2009. Until then she had a career in Airport Management and more recently ran her own Aviation Security Consultancy business.
​
Ruth teaches clinics with Russell all over New Zealand and the World providing her specialist expertise in horse psychology and learning, healthy movement and rider posture, and saddle comfort. She also teaches privately and takes horses for foundation training.
​
Ruth's main horse, Denis, is a Holsteiner x TB and half brother to Russell's horse Maxwell.
